PERSONALIZED PLACES

See the Norway Places That Match Your Trip

Norway has hundreds of places worth seeing. Most of them won't fit your trip. Gowme shows you only the ones that match your interests, season, and travel style — and gives you everything you need to decide before you go.

Pick your interests — Norway places filtered to what matters

Select what matters — fjords, waterfalls, hikes, beaches, wildlife spots, stave churches, scenic roads, coastal villages. The counter at the bottom updates as you pick: "42 places matched." More interests = more places. A single interest like "northern lights" gives you a focused, curated set in the right region.

You're not guessing what's out there. The matched count tells you immediately whether your selection will fill 5 days or 12.

See all matched Norway places on the map before you commit

After generating your settings, all matching places appear as pins on a Norway map. You can zoom in, see what clusters appear in which regions, and get an immediate sense of whether the trip leans north or south. The map updates live as you change settings.

Like or exclude individual places

See a place you definitely want in the route? Like it — and the planner will prioritize it when building your itinerary. See one you're not interested in? Exclude it — and it won't appear in your route at all, even if it otherwise matches your preferences. You stay in control of what goes in.

Apply new settings without starting over

Want to narrow down to a specific region? Remove an interest? Switch from summer to autumn? Open Trip Settings, make the change, press Apply. The places list and the map update instantly. The route rebuilds around your new selection in seconds.

Frequently asked questions

How many places are in the database?
Several hundred curated Norwegian locations, from well-known landmarks to lesser-visited spots that are genuinely worth the detour. We keep adding more.
Can I see places outside my matched set?
You can expand or change your interests at any time to see more — the counter tells you immediately how many would match.
Does "liking" a place guarantee it ends up in my route?
It increases the priority strongly — but if a liked place is very far outside your route corridor, the planner may still exclude it and show it as dropped. You can adjust the route to accommodate it.
Where does the entry fee and parking data come from?
It's manually researched and updated by us. Norway's pricing changes regularly — we aim to keep it current and flag entries where pricing is uncertain.
Can I filter by region — just Lofoten, just Bergen, etc.?
You can set your start and end city, which focuses the route and the places selection to a specific region naturally. Dedicated region filters are in development.
Is all this available on mobile?
Yes — the places view, map, and all detail panels are optimized for mobile. For the best map experience, try horizontal mode. See the travel app page for install tips.
Do you have written guides for individual places?
Yes, gradually — the Norway places overview links out to individual location articles as they're published.
